Modified To 6x6
Jeeps have their own separate fan base in the world, the same applies to India too. Mahindra Jeeps have been in India for a long time now. These Jeeps were manufactured by Mahindra under license from Willy’s. You can still find some very well maintained and working examples of Mahindra Jeeps. However, some people have been doing some crazy things with these old Jeeps
if you are an enthusiast then you might have heard of the Mercedes-Benz G63 6×6 and the Hennessey VelociRaptor 6X6. A Pune based modification garage known as Grizzly Customs decided to modify a Mahindra Thar into a 6×6. However, it is a bit different from other 6×6 vehicles. Where other vehicles get an additional rear axle, Grizzly Customs decided to give an additional set of wheels. So, the rear axle now has four wheels on it just like we see on trucks.
Converted to a Rat Rod!
Climbing stairs
Now, a lot of SUVs can climb stairs. We have even covered stories of a Tata Bolt climbing stairs! However, it is quite commendable of a Mahindra MM550 to climb stairs considering that it is quite an old vehicle as compared to modern vehicles that come with an advanced 4×4 system. The video is recorded in Kerala and we can see that the MM550 climb up the stairs without any fuss.
Crossing a canal
Earlier, we have covered videos of SUVs crossing streams. However, here we can see a Mahindra Thar crossing a canal. Canals can be more tricky than a stream. The reason behind this is to cross a canal you first have to go down a slippery wall and then climb a steep slippery wall with wet tyres. This is quite difficult and it is commendable of the Thar to be able to do so. At first, the SUV was not able to climb the edge of the canal. However, then the driver engaged the low range and then the Thar was able to climb the canal.
Rescuing a tractor
We have seen numerous videos in which a tractor or any other heavy vehicles come to rescue a four-wheeler that is stuck. However, here is a video in which we can see entirely opposite is happening. We can see a red coloured Tractor that is stuck. A Mahindra Thar has come to rescue it. As we can see in the video, the Thar was able to tow the tractor quite easily.
